The short version

TraceHush does not collect, sell, share, or transmit personal data. It has no analytics, no account system, and no server component.

1. Information we collect

None. The TraceHush Safari extension does not collect personal information, browsing history, page contents, search queries, IP addresses, device identifiers, or advertising identifiers.

2. Information stored on your device

Your master-switch state, selected protection level, paused website hostnames, and the internal rule identifiers used to manage those exceptions are stored in Safari's local extension storage. This information stays on your device. You can remove a paused website at any time by resuming protection for it, and removing the extension removes its local data.

3. How blocking works

TraceHush provides a packaged list of known advertising and tracking domains to Safari's declarative request-blocking engine. Safari evaluates those rules. TraceHush does not receive or log the web requests that match them.

4. Permissions

The extension uses declarative network request access to apply its packaged rules, local storage for your settings, and temporary active-tab access after you open its toolbar control so it can offer a pause option for the current site. It does not request permission to read every webpage.

5. Third parties

The extension contains no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs. Its domain rules are derived from the AdAway default blocklist under the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 license; the packaged extension includes detailed attribution and modification notices.

6. This website

This website is hosted by Squarespace. TraceHush does not add analytics, advertising pixels, accounts, forms, or nonessential cookies. Squarespace may process limited technical information and use cookies that are necessary to securely deliver the site. Nonessential Squarespace cookies and the Activity Log are disabled.

7. Children's privacy

Because TraceHush collects no personal data, it does not knowingly collect personal data from children.

8. Changes

If these practices change, this policy will be updated before a release that introduces the change. The effective date at the top will also change.
