Turn on the extension
- Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad.
- Choose Apps → Safari → Extensions.
- Select TraceHush and turn it on.
- Return to Safari. Protection starts in Balanced mode.
Pause a website
- Open the website in Safari.
- Tap Safari's extensions button, then TraceHush.
- Choose Pause on this site.
- Reload the page. Use the same control to resume.

Does TraceHush block ads in other apps?
No. TraceHush is a Safari extension and filters supported web requests inside Safari only. It does not filter YouTube, games, social apps, or other iPhone apps.
Why is there still an empty space where an ad was?
The first release blocks network requests without reading or rewriting page content. That protects privacy and limits permissions, but it can leave the page's original ad container in place.
A website is not working correctly. What should I do?
Pause TraceHush on that site and reload. If that fixes the problem, include the site hostname in a support message so the packaged rules can be reviewed.
What is the difference between Balanced and Strict?
Balanced blocks listed domains only when they appear as third-party resources, which reduces breakage. Strict applies the list to all supported subresources for more coverage and a greater chance of site issues.
Does TraceHush know what I browse?
No. Safari applies the packaged blocking rules. TraceHush does not collect page contents, matched requests, or browsing history. See the privacy policy for the complete explanation.
How do I resume protection on a paused website?
Return to the website in Safari, open TraceHush, and choose Resume protection here. You can also remove the hostname from the allowed-websites list in TraceHush settings.
